I was thinking that it might be an idea to make an offer on the official forums to host sub boards for mod teams. At the moment when a mod gets large enough the teams usually make their own forum, or apply for a board at exillian of mbx, however neither of those sites get a lot of non-modder traffic. Some mods prefer this for the sake of privacy, but there are others that want people from the main forums to post in their development boards for feedback/suggestions.
At any rate, if you're happy to do that, then I'm sure there would be plenty of new mod teams that would welcom the oppurtunity and the help, especially once Warbands is released.
Of course all this can wait until the site itself is actually set up.
Yes I think we can provide this, but only for mods that are large enough, else it would be overcrowded of sub forums for only a few people, and since it requires time for a forum admins to create them (especially if they want a private section, etc) that it would be too much work on our side.
We can also host biggest mod websites (or offer them a private FTP space if they want to) depending of their site engine, for example a manually created php/mysql website or a not patched CMS could compromise the whole server.

Exactly, I would not give them their own webspace.
There are just way to many things that can go wrong, intentionally or not.
It would be better to give them a Sub-board.
For a static HTML site risks would be very low, but it's a pain in the ass to update so I don't know if mods webmaster would like to work with a such system.
By the way, there are protections on the servers, I installed mod_security2 for reducing sql injection attacks.

Yes, but people will probally want PHP and MySQL functions, making it much more risky.
Taleworlds supplies their own hosting to fansites, so you probably won't have to worry about that particular can of worms.
Oh and by new mods I meant mods that develop in the future, or are quite large now and don't have their own forum yet. I imagine making a sub-board for every new mod that started up would be both a nightmare and an impossibility.

Some of the great helmet forum icons have red backings on them.
What does it mean?
If it's red it means there are unread topics for you in it. The winged helmet is because it is a category with several sub forums inside, normal helmet is for normal forums.

I was gonna ask that too. Quite ingenious, with the wings indicating sub-boards.
I was just going to say, Nice site you got here. Good luck.
On the website I am somehow able to submit news. Can everyone do this or are they supposed to have the possibility to be able to submit news?

Everyone can do it. When you submit news, it is sent to us for confirmation.
ah... I thought, its a bit strange that everyone can just add news..
Visitors do not add news directly, submitted news are just shown in administration board and a team member must validate them in order to make them appear in the news (and anyway we'll have to add screenshots or probably change a bit the text).

Yeah! What Konar said!
haha, is if you cretinous "users" could muster the competence to create a news post. Baha.
Take, for example, the genius wordplay that I have put into the "Mongol Series" item.
See how I replaced "step" with "steppe"? See?!
sorry... got a bit carried away. I'll still post it. Wana rank up.

If I'd seen the article, I'd probably have noticed.

You might want to think about some writing guidelines for articles, i.e. what kind of stuff you're looking for, how long they should be and similar. I could probably submit a few pieces of general interest, but without knowing precisely what kind of stuff you're interested in I'm not sure how useful they would be.

@Arch: Some guidelines for user-submissions would be a good idea. I may start a discussion, in our private site team forum. See how the shoe is on the other foot?
@Tintin: Damn straight, I'll have to make my poor humour more obvious, in future.

Not sure if this is the correct place, but this might be appropriate in some way for your website.

It seems it might be a while until Tiberius and his team take over, so I have decided to realease what I've got so far, it's not much, but it should be enough for now. I patched it up today to make it playable, if you find CRUCIAL bugs you've got till tomorrow night to let me know, after that it's bye bye modding for me. Some may like it, some may not, and there probably are balance issues, but hey, better this than nothing, besides you should be able to pump up the battleziser now. Below are a couple of screenshots, because, like I said before, I know that's what get you all wet. I trust Venitius will update the FAQ when he has the time. Have fun and thanks for your support.
Also a plug for a coder for Tib would be nice. Link is in the EATRC forums.
