Is there a tutorial anywhere that gives rough breakdown of how to do it? Other than studying for my next IT exam I have some spare time each night to do whatever. Would be interested in doing some scenes if needed.

Yeah of course. I've got Tibertus looking to help out too so I think two sceners would be very nice.

I'm going to make a new scene, today and write a tutorial, in the process.

For now, the best thing you could do would be to add me on msn: "frankelliott555@hotmail.co.uk".

Thanks for showing an interest, though. The only real qualification required is basic competence and a decent level of enthusiasm!

Cool. That looks so fun. Only one problem. They always have an axe in their hands. Even when they throw an axe there's still an axe in their hand.

Hahah uber awesome, the 2-handend throwing axes. Maybe you can implent it with tourmanents, like throw a hammer as far as you can, Highland Games.

I'm really making a go of this, it's going to be a good one.

I've been replacing all of natives settlements, troops and factions, today so a lot of that legwork is done. Here's a preview of a retexture I'm working on for the Nundukh Khanate.



It looks a little "total war" right now but I'll be ironing out some kinks.

Wow, nice. What do you plan sieges to be like? Just running through the gates and slaughtering everything?

Yeah I want to have rams battering down gates, for castles without drawbridges. I also want to have mounted troops play a part in sieges.

They'll probably be used to give an advantage to the defender.

The team is growing.

Tibertus joined about a week ago, to help out with the mass of scening planned. Look a page or two back and you'll see his first WIP. It's looking sweet.

cdvader joined... Today! He's scripting, for the mod and currently, working on getting rams working. He's a talented coder and we're very excited.

Ooh, thanks very much. We're just doing a lot of legwork right now. Renaming, positioning, new faces for the lords. So there isn't that much to show. Cdvader's working on the ram.

I never posted the finished version of the scale mail horse so... here it is! These will be used with high ranking Nundukh troops, only (colonels and khan's guards). They will roughly equivalent to a hunter in natve so don't worry, I haven't gone all heavy cavalry.

Here's a wings render of the current ram. Just need to add more details to the metal strips on the sides and finish the alpha channels.

sweet just joined here, i have to say this is a mod that so far isnt just talking the talk but walking the walk, showing results, and thats wat keeps mods goin. i like your idea for sieges, maybe to add more variety to the castles u could texture palisades made from different types of wood? i would give some variation. i also like the idea of mounted troops in sieges, so kinda sally out and charge.

There could maybe be a small scene when you're building a battering ram when a small force of mounted soldiers ride out and try to kill your engineers and destroy the ram. You'd have to protect them. If they all die you have to start building the ram again. If only a few of them die it takes a bit longer for them to finish.

Glad you like it, Jacob. I'll post some new stuff, from Cadrogh, soon. The mailed kilts are done so I'll post some snaps of them.

Battering rams are working really well, now. I'll get up a video soon, when I fix the normal mapping on the ram itself.

I like you're idea, Tintin. Maybe as a random event, or something. I'll look into it.

The ram, basically, moves to it's place (You don't need to push it, at all, the men push it), then the door gets banged a few times, and at last the gates bash open.

They walk next the ram and it looks good, I think. We're not a mod that's looking to do everything 10x better than Native.

Our main objectives are to make a few improvements in areas that we feel need to be improved, change a few things that we think would be better changed and create a rich feeling in a different setting to native's.

Once we've done that, then we'll make it 10x better.

I've decided not to post images of the Mailed Kilts, yet. I'm going to crack on with new armours and weapons so I can release proper faction previews.

You may have noticed that the scener position is back open again. I haven't heard anything from Tibertus lately and there's a lot of scening to be done. (A lot)

but i think tib is back, cause he posted on the tw forum of over the great blood falls, saying they were puttitng that on hold, u could try contacting him again

maybe you can add two or three siege types (combined)....

when i load a high battle number ( 300) and there is only a ladder you suffer it

But would your men use all of them. I've noticed in Lords and Realms when there's two ladders my men normally only use one of them.

Yes, we have that in plan for the major-cities. There will be two stages: first, the attacker team must move in and clear the first courtyard (using either a battering ram or a belfry), then move up some ladders and defeat the remaining soldiers in the keep.
